Giving Back to the Community

Since its founding in 1948, the Castro Valley Women's Club, through a variety of programs and projects, has accomplished much that has directly benefited our community. The Club donated money, glasses and recorded books on tape for the visually impaired, performed vision and hearing tests for preschool children, donated respirators to the local hospital, sponsored the lighting of the community holiday tree, sponsored the placement of litter receptacles on Castro Valley Boulevard, paid for the lighting on the Castro Valley High School athletic field, provided safety vests for the Alameda County K9 unit, provided lap robes and holiday greeting cards to veterans, knitted caps for cancer patients, made masks during the COVID epidemic, donated to worthwhile charities like Building Futures and SOS Meals on Wheels, thanked our First Responders through a project that has yielded over 400 messages of gratitude on banners and made meals for homebound seniors. Chanticleers, Castro Valley's Little Theater, was organized by the Drama Section of CVWC and the Club funded chairs for the CV Center for the Arts.
